We are currently breeding three dual-purpose heritage breeds: Delaware, Barred Plymouth Rock, and Golden Laced Wyandotte. We also raise a sex-link hybrid we call a Dotte Rock, which is a cross between one one of our Golden Laced Wyandotte roosters and one of our Barred Plymouth Rock hens. Our heritage breeds are all sold as straight runs, which means we are not able to judge which are males and which are females when they first hatch. Once they reach about five weeks of age, it becomes pretty easy to determine their sex based on their growth rate and the size of the wattles and combs.
Our Dotte Rock chickens are sex-link hybrids, which means we can separate them by sex the same day they hatch.
